My 1 Week Old Kitten Has Fleas

If fleas or flea dirt are present treat the kitten for fleas right away.
My 1 week old kitten has fleas. Purchase a flea comb dish soap or a kitten shampoo and tea tree essential oil. I give him regular baths every week or 2 and by the time he is due for a bath he has a lot of fleas on him just in that amount of time. Cats aged 14 weeks and older or which are 2 lbs may take comfortis for fleas. I rescued my kitten at about 5 or 6 weeks old he is now 10 or 11 weeks old my question is can i put flea drops on him now even though the drops say to do so at 12 weeks.
This poor baby hit her face and had her lip. If you can grab these fleas with your fingers or tweezers drop them into a cup of hot soapy water. It s been touch and go as the people that brought her into the clinic saw her get tossed out of a car window. Fleas will move to the driest area of the kitten so it is not unusual to see them swarm to the head and facial area.
Soapy water helps prevent fleas from jumping out of the bathwater although it isn t actually necessary to remove or kill fleas. By making it impossible for fleas to infest your older cats your kitten will be less likely to suffer from fleas again. Avoid flea shampoos because they aren t intended for use in kittens under 12 weeks of age. Comb out the fleas while the fur is damp.
Look for flea dirt which is a sign that the kitten has fleas even if you don t see live bugs. While capstar is fast acting and effective at killing fleas keep in mind that the effect only lasts for 24 hours. Capstar is a popular flea product that works within 6 hours to kill 90 of fleas and it can be used on kittens as young as 4 weeks of age and older provided the kitten weighs at least 2 pounds. So ive put the appropriate treatment on the monthly one from the vets for its age and i have only seen them on the kitten who is confined to the kitchen and living room but i know for a fact that isnt gonna just tackle them alone as eggs etc but i have wooden flooring and no rugs so didnt know about using sprays.
Cats under 6 weeks of age cannot receive chemical treatments for fleas. Ninety percent of the time i end up having to treat these kittens with fleas and it can be difficult to find a one time product for those under 8 weeks of age. Flea dirt looks like small black flecks of dirt and will be present along the base of the fur. Leather sofas as well just wondered if anyone had experience or advice.
Make sure that the oil is 100 percent therapeutic grade.
